THE WINGED EXPRESS
After Mike Boyd built the new 417 DONOVAN and bolted it into "THE WING", they were ready to make some test passes. Click Here to see how she reacted. After the second pass in "THE WING" it had lifted the front end a few feet off the ground and Mike got out of the throttle about 100ft out due to severe tire shake. After setting her back down on the track Mike noticed something was wrong. Mike shut her down safely and once out of the car he noticed that the front end had been bent.
"Mousie" then asked Alex Mikkelsen of American Roadster to fix the front end so "THE WING" could return to Bakersfield Raceway the following weekend to participate in the MARCH MEET. Alex built a strong front end for the "Winged Express" and had it ready for the following week. Once again, Mike and the rest of the "Winged Express" team displayed awesome exhibition passes with 1/2 track burnouts and throttle smashing runs by Mike. It's a real treat to see this car run down the track.
